Patient Survey

Maintaining good physical health often depends on a well-balanced diet, exercise, and receiving regular medical tests to help detect conditions early, when the chances of successful treatment are the greatest. The type and frequency of medical tests a woman should have depends on her age and often other circumstances, such as a family history of diseases, etc. Talk with your doctor about recommended health screening exams for you.

Mammography

Premier Diagnostic Imaging provides digital mammography examinations for all women at the Premier Center for Women. Digital Mammography expands our ability to provide the highest quality of care in the prevention and early detection of breast cancer.

Digital mammography offers the latest in technology with higher resolution for superior image quality. The radiologists can electronically manipulate the images to see much more detail.

The American Cancer Society suggests that women begin having mammograms by age 40 and continue yearly for the rest of their lives. At Premier Diagnostic Imaging, you can feel confident in knowing that each mammogram is viewed by a radiologist and a computer-aided detection system. Women receive flowers after their mammograms, to reward them for taking control of their health.

Premier Diagnostic Imaging utilizes the ImageChecker system, the first FDA-approved computer-aided detection system for mammography. More information about this revolutionary technology is available at www.r2tech.com.

An annual digital mammogram is covered by Medicare and most insurance plans. When a problem is diagnosed early, treatment is more effective, and less expensive.

Osteoporosis and Bone Density Testing

Osteoporosis is a disease in which bones become fragile and more likely to break. If not prevented or if left untreated, osteoporosis can progress painlessly until a bone breaks, typically in the hip, spine, and wrist. Bone density tests are the only way to detect low bone mass.

Eighty percent of those affected by osteoporosis are women.

For more information about osteoporosis, visit the National Osteoporosis Foundation website at www.nof.org.

Cardiac Risk Screening

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women in America, but it is largely preventable. If detected early, it can be stopped or reversed. Participation in a health screening can determine your risk for heart disease. Cardiac screenings are of particular importance to patients with multiple risk factors for heart disease such as: family history of heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, smoking, lack of exercise, poor diet, and a high stress lifestyle.

Manage your own health care by participating in a cardiac disease risk screening at Premier Diagnostic Imaging. CT Coronary Calcium Scoring is a simple procedure to evaluate coronary arteries for the presence of calcium deposits. In a Cardiac Stress test, the patient exercises on a programmed treadmill that progressively increases in speed and elevation, while blood pressure, heart rate, and heart rhythm are monitored.
